1. Reduce & Recycle: When packing you may come across clothing, dishes, and old papers that aren't being used anymore. This is a great way to move into your new home with a fresh start. Give away and recycle unwanted furniture, clothing and unused appliances. This will also make moving lighter on you. Designate an area or maybe box and label them for their proper destination. Here are some examples: donation box, paper box, glass box. When packing, ask yourself when the last time you used this, or wore that. If it's been a while, you may not need it. Asses which bin/area it belongs, and place it there. If you don't want to deal with having to carry loads to the donation store or the recycling facility Austin Conveyance: Moving & Storage will gladly do this for you. Just pack and label things properly stating where they need to go and we will pick these items up along with your other belongings the day of your move.
2. Boxes: When looking for boxes make sure to buy the ones that are 100% recycled. There are also places that sell gently used boxes along with recycled boxes. Austin Conveyance can provide you with recycled boxes which we can deliver prior to your move. Also if you return these boxes to us we will refund you your box charge.
3. Packing Paper: There are two pptions. First, stores that carry the newspaper or restaurants that carry the local news will throw out all their unclaimed issues the next day. Call ahead, speak with a manager and ask them if you can have all their expired newspapers for packing paper. Second, Austin Conveyance offers packing paper make of recycled paper. Whatever you decide, just remember to buy the recycled kind.
4. Packing Tape: Most local retailers offer some kind of packing tape. Bio-degradable packing tape is available through a few retailers online. Austin Conveyance also offers Bio-degradable packing tape which we can provide along with all our other packing supply needs.
